Franka Maria Andoh calls herself an 'emerging writer'.  That's because she feels the process of learning how to write is a never-ending one.  She was born in Accra in 1968 and her first short story 'Mansa' was published in the Caine African Writers Anthology 'Work in Progress and Other Stories'.  She has also had published two children's stories, "Dokono the Donkey" and "Koku the Cockerel".

Ghana is an important setting in most of her stories and this is where she resides, the owner of a coffee shop called Cuppa Cappuccino.  She was recently awarded a grant by the Ghana Denmark Cultural Fund to publish her collection of short stories, I Have Time and Other Short Stories.  It is a diverse collection of stories written by Franka who has been described as a sly, social critic and will be on the market from June 13th 2014.
