Since completing a B.A. degree in Cultural Studies at Trent University in Canada, Anita has worked prolifically in the media industry. She began her career abroad working at FLOW 93.5 FM in Ontario where she took on the responsibilities of communications consultant and on-air host.

Her tasks included producing, directing and hosting THE WORD, an urban gospel program. Whilst in Canada, she also worked at Trent Radio 92.7 FM in Peterborough and CITY TV in Toronto.

Anita Erskine is a powerful personality whose energy and passion for life's adventures is unmistakable! Which is why, after auditions in Accra last week, M-NET lifestyle program STUDIO 53 has picked the strikingly gorgeous Ghanaian as a field presenter for the show. At 28, the go-getting star has traveled the world, worked extensively in the media and followed her dreams onto screens and airwaves across her home country.

Born in Jerusalem and raised in Ghana, she joins the STUDIO 53 team this month and makes her appearance on M-Net screens on April 25. Her role will be to introduce DStv's African audiences to the vibrant arts, culture, places and personalities of Ghana, which recently celebrated a landmark 50 years of Independence.

Back in Ghana in 2006, Anita continued to work in entertainment, hosting Ghana's first ever dating show Looking for Love on TV3 before starting to host the music show Mentor II. Other TV credits include: The Bold and the Beautiful Game Show and Smash TV, both for Ghana's Metro TV.

On the radio front, she was the host and producer of Soul Food Café on Groove 106.3 FM where she also co-hosted the Get Going on Groove show. Recently Anita also followed her love for music into a recording booth releasing her first single Ghana. Not one to rest while there's fun to be had, Anita is looking forward to her role on STUDIO 53 and says that she auditioned because she wanted a new experience.

"It's a totally different game when you take your work beyond the borders of your country. For me, it means I'm ready to exhibit my versatility. It means I'm ready to appreciate the culture of others, to know how they vibrate and essentially to win their hearts by doing what I do. That's why I gave it a shot!"

In addition to being the new Ghanaian face of STUDIO 53, Anita is also a fan of the show and encourages audiences to tune in for its authentic content. "Africa is HUGE and beautiful! We're an amazing people with fantastic stories to tell. Most people aspire to travel across Africa to discover the hidden beauties of this continent Studio 53 brings all this to you in the comfort of your home."

By giving it a shot, Anita now finds herself a member of the STUDIO 53 on-air team which includes Uganda's Gaetano Kagwa, South Africa's Rosie Motene, Nigeria's Kemi Adetiba and IK Osakioduwa, Kenya's Fareed Khimani and Zimbabwe's Kudzai Sevenzo, to name a few.

When she's not in front of the cameras, on radio or in a studio, Anita heads home to watch movies, play with her dogs or catch her favourite TV programs Desperate Housewives, Scrubs, ER and Grey's Anatomy. Tune in and see Anita in action on M-Net's STUDIO 53, which flights every Thursday on DStv channel 3.
