ELIGIBILITY
Environmental Film Festival of Accra (EFFA) is currently accepting films and videos made about the environment or about issues around the environment throughout the world. We also accept films and videos that explore the relationship between the environment and other socio - economic, political and cultural themes. The 10th edition of EFFA in June 2014 will celebrate the notable achievements over the eventful decade and make plans for the future.
This year, a critical focus is climate change which is bringing new challenges to Ghana's growth and natural resources. This is due to the fact that a significant part of the country's economic activity is dependent on climate sensitive sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, tourism and forestry. EFFA has highlighted other equally pressing environmental challenges such as indiscriminate mining contaminating water bodies, displacing families and affecting livelihoods of communities; deforestation, water, sanitation etc and created a platform for public dialogue and sharing of global best practices. Looking positively into the future, we now have opportunities to use technology and innovation to steer future economic gains towards a greener growth.
Whilst we give preference to films about Ghana and Africa, we screen highly acclaimed international films. Films should preferably depict positive and realistic images and can be of any genre - drama, comedy, horror, adventure, animation, romance, science fiction, experimental, etc.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURES
You will need to complete and sign the Application Form and post to us with your publicity material, high definition stills and DVD (PAL). [Absolutely no mini-DVs or Betas]. Please also email a copy of your completed Application Form to info@effaccra.org EFFA will confirm your entry by return email.
