Oran Arab Film International Festival is going to take place in Algeria as from the end of July to the beginning of August. The festival slogan is "an Arab cinema with more openness and maturity".The major objective of this Arab cinematographic meeting is the discovery in a time of challenges confronting the Arab World.


Arab artists carry on their quest for a cinema of identity to face up to globalisation in such special and difficult circumstances. They search for a type of cinema that can express and take into the consideration all the issues freely.The artists are looking for a cinema which discloses inner concerns. A cinema that debates, opposes and observes societies as well.


In this first edition of the Arab Film International Festival, we look forward to making acquaintance with such cinema. The festival is an annual Arab cinematographic event introduced this year to be perpetuated by filmmakers in the forthcoming years.
