William Addo obtained his degree in Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Ghana and thereafter proceeded to University of Leeds in the United Kingdom where he was awarded the M.A. degree in Theatre Studies, majoring in Acting and Directing.
In addition to the academic qualifications, William Addo has also earned some professional certificates and undertaken various training courses. He was the recipient of the USIS International Visitor Programme award for 1992 which took him to see some of the major theatre's in the United States. He also had opportunity to interact with management, training procedures, planning and programming at these theatres.
William Addo has had an impressive working experience to cap his academic qualifications. He was the Research Assistant at the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana from 1980 -1985 and rose to the position of Senior Research Assistant in 1985 -1991.
His professional experience include the following: Get Involve Theatre Group, Artistic Director, Abibigromma1988 -1993, General Secretary, Ghana Centre International Institute and Director, Performing Arts, National Commission on Culture.
William Addo was the Co-ordinator, of educational programs as well as the Artistic Director for the Keysoap Concert Party Show at the National Theatre. He is the Acting Regional Director, Centre for National Culture, Volta Region.
He combines an impressive background with an expansive working experience and caps them all with an enviable professional experience as a Director of over eighty-five plays, and Actor in over hundred plays and host of films, video and television productions.
