The construction of a new village in the heart of the Malian bush naturally evokes the beginning of the world, the Genesis. How can you not wonder about the genesis of the villagers from Marakala, 200 kms south of Bamako, when listening to their story ? They thought they had found paradise when they went to work in Alsace, France, but the paradise they had imagined was somewhat different. They decided to go back to their country to found a village together, to found their own paradise. God only needed seven days to create the world... but the villagers, not being God, have been working hard on their village for the last ten years. Workers and city dwellers in France, they have forced themselves to become peasants and villagers again in Africa...
