British filmmaker of Moroccan descent

Fyzal BOULIFA is a British filmmaker of Moroccan descent. He is the writer and director of several short films including "Burn My Body", described by Sight & Sound as'extreme','unfortunate' and'expertly directed', and Whore, winner of Best UK Short at London East End Film Festival and Grand Prix du Jury at Angers Premiers Plans 2010.
He established his Production company, Too True Films Ltd.

Fyzal Boulifa is a writer-director based between Paris, London and Tangier. He learned filmmaking from watching and shooting as many films as he could. His short films, "The Curse" and "Rate Me", have twice won awards at Cannes' Directors' Fortnight and been nominated for the BAFTAs. In 2019, he directed his first feature, "Lynn+Lucy", for which he was nominated for a Debut Director Award at the British Independent Film Awards. The film premiered at the San Sebastián Festival and won multiple awards at Macao, Marrakech, Les Arcs and Vilnius. After "Les damnés ne pleurent pas" (2022), Fyzal is currently working on his next feature, "Dying Young."

I suoi cortometraggi, The Curse e Rate Me, sono stati premiati due volte alla Quinzaine des Réalisateurs di Cannes e nominati ai BAFTA.
